This reference book has been prepared and published in accordance with the requirements of Sections 15 and 16 of the Freedom of Information Acts 1997 and 2003.
In accordance with Section 15 of the Act, this reference book aims to facilitate access to official information held by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal by outlining
- the structure and functions of the organisation
- details of the services it provides and how they may be availed of
- the types of records it holds
- how to make a request to the tribunal under the Freedom of Information Acts
Section 16 of the FOI Act requires the tribunal to publish a book containing information on:
- the rules and practices it uses in making its decisions
- the manner in which it administers compensation schemes
