291. Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Justice and Equality further to Parliamentary Question No. 601 of 17 April 2018, his plans in relation to a SAVI II report on foot of the report of the scoping group received in April 2018; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39891/18]

Minister for Justice and Equality (Deputy Charles Flanagan): The scoping group was established by my Department to consider the availability of data and make recommendations on a study to identify the prevalence of sexual abuse and violence in Ireland today, as well as any emerging trends. The group has completed a draft report. Work is currently underway to resolve some technical issues before proposals can be considered by Government. I plan to bring such proposals to Government in the coming weeks. Once the report has been considered by Government, it will be possible to be more specific about its recommendations.
