129. Deputy Micheál Martin asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the status of the commitment in the programme for Government regarding the national women's strategy that is due to be published by the end of 2016. [35168/16]

Minister of State at the Department of Justice and Equality (Deputy David Stanton): Substantial work has been done on the preparation of a new National Women's Strategy. A written consultation will begin shortly when a consultation document will be published on my Department's website. Public consultation meetings will be held in a number of locations in December and January before the Strategy is finalised.
