Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality further to Parliamentary Question No. 69 of 9 November 2016, if she will provide the names of persons and country of origin of the applications made from terrestrial bookmakers not resident in the State in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Minister of State at the Department of Justice and Equality (Deputy David Stanton): The names of terrestrial bookmakers not resident in the State who have applied to my Department for a Certificate of Personal Fitness are set out below. All such applications are from persons resident in the United Kingdom.
The Deputy may wish to note that, in accordance with the Betting Act 1931, the Revenue Commissioners maintain a number of regularly updated registers of persons to whom bookmakers licences are granted. This register can be accessed on their website at -
