Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality (Deputy Frances Fitzgerald): I wish to inform the Deputy that the necessary arrangements are currently being finalised to appoint a new Board. Expressions of interest were invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the Private Security Appeals Board via the stateboards.ie webpage, in accordance with the process outlined in the approved Guidelines on Appointments to State Boards, published in November 2014. The process for the selection of candidates is now being finalised and I intend to bring nominations for appointment to the Board to the Government for approval in the near future. As the Deputy will appreciate, all appointments to the Private Security Appeals Board are made by the Government in accordance with the provisions of Schedule 2 to the Private Security Services Act 2004.
