A report by PA Consulting Group providing options and recommendations for the better protection, preservation and access to the documents in the Registry of Deeds.

The report's main finding is that documents and records held in the Registry of Deeds are deteriorating through a combination of age, public use and environmental factors relating to the building in which they are stored.

The recommendations of the report are that the following measures be taken:

• scan and index the documents and records
• relocate the documents and records to a more appropriate location
• consider the alternative uses of the Registry of Deeds building
