Policing Authority was established

On 1st of January, the Policing Authority was established. The main function of the Authority will be to oversee the performance by the Garda Síochána of its functions relating to policing services. Read more
Garda recruitment campaign
A campaign to recruit Gardaí in 2016 has attracted approximately 16,000 applicants*. The campaign closed on 6th of January.
