COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the critical role of the internet in our everyday lives. We can be connected with loved ones in an instant, no matter where they are in the world; businesses can access markets and staff can work remotely; and students have a wealth of information and resources at their fingertips.

At the same time there are risks associated with the online world. Be Safe Online is the government’s campaign to highlight ways to help you stay safe online, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These pages offer access to a wide range of online safety resources which are of particular use while so many are working from home.

The National Cyber Security Centre has useful advisories for individuals and businesses on working from home, and COVID-19 cyber security impacts.

Webwise has a wealth of resources and information for parents and kids on staying safe and secure online.

Media Literacy Ireland has guidance on ensuring news and information is accurate and reliable.

Healthy Ireland and the HSE also have resources on healthy online behaviour to protect our wellbeing.

Be Safe Online is the government’s campaign to highlight ways to help you stay safe online.

This webpage provides access to a wide range of Online Safety resources, to support online safety for all.

While Government has an important role, it alone cannot effectively address Online Safety issues.

Industry, educators, parents, and children and young people must all play their part.
