Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of approvals granted under the immigrant investor programme in each of the years 2014 to 2018; the overall amount invested under the programme in each of the years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Justice and Equality (Deputy Charles Flanagan): The Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) was introduced in April 2012 to encourage inward investment to create business and employment opportunities in the State.
A breakdown of the number of approvals and the overall value of approved applications for the years referred to by the Deputy is set out in the following table.
