Answer

Minister for Justice (Deputy Heather Humphreys): The preparation of Regulatory Impact Assessments (RIA) is an important element of the legislative process and one that my Department takes seriously.  Of the 12 bills prepared and published by my Department since 27 June 2020, 7 RIAs were prepared, 1 of which was published.  As the Deputy will be aware, RIAs are not required in relation to all legislation.
