323. Deputy Jennifer Carroll MacNeill asked the Minister for Justice if a person (details supplied) will be supported in obtaining their Irish residence permit card renewal given their current circumstances; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [27174/22]


Minister for Justice (Deputy Helen McEntee): I can confirm that an application to renew the permission to remain in the State from the person referred to by the Deputy has been approved. They can expect to receive their new Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card within the next 10 working days.
Officials working in the Registration Office of my Department have also made direct contact with the person concerned regarding the processing of their re-entry visa.
Queries in relation to the status of individual immigration cases may be made directly to my Department by e-mail using the Oireachtas Mail facility at , which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up to date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Question process. The Deputy may consider using the e-mail service except in the cases where the response is, in the Deputy's view, inadequate or too long awaited.
