117. Deputy Tom Fleming asked the Minister for Justice and Equality if she will examine an application in respect of a person (details supplied) who has an application for a stamp O or stamp 3. as they are anxious to stay here for longer than three months; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4257/15]

Minister for Justice and Equality (Deputy Frances Fitzgerald): I am advised by the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) of my Department that they do not have an application for the person detailed by the Deputy. To assist INIS in locating the application, if one has already been made, it would be helpful if the person's name and Person ID can be confirmed and the details of their application and Application ID supplied. This can be submitted through the Oireachtas Email facility to save time.
Queries in relation to the status of individual immigration cases may be made directly to the INIS by e-mail using the Oireachtas Mail facility which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up-to-date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek information by way of the Parliamentary Questions process. The Deputy may consider using the e-mail service except in cases where the response from the INIS is, in the Deputy's view, inadequate or too long awaited .
